James jr. and Joseph were born the exact same minute, at 8:38 a.m. identical twin brothers, it was only fitting they be born the exact same minute, every ultrasound showed how very close they were. always head to head, back to back, hands intertwined. James died at 12:37, a spontaneous pnuemo thorax they told us. It was a very unexpected a a cruel shock. His daddy and I both got a chance to hold him before he passed. Joseph died at 7:32 pm. He was born with potters syndrome which we knew ahead of time, but the farther along into the pregnancy, he grew as did his chances of making it once he was born. We had to decide when to turn the ventilators off. James and I both got to hold and kiss him. I held him while they turned the machines off, and he went very peacefully in my arms, surrounded by family. it's so very hard to write a lifestory for lives that were so very short. the most important thing i can say about the lives of these little ones is that the amount of time we had with them here on earth in no way equals the amount of love we felt and will always always feel
